Brewster Rawls Selected to Super Lawyers® for Ten Consecutive Years

RICHMOND, VIRGINIA, April 14, 2020 – Rawls Law Group of Richmond, Virginia is pleased to announce that Brewster S. Rawls has again been selected by Super Lawyers® as a top-rated attorney practicing in the Richmond, Virginia area. This is the tenth consecutive year Brewster has achieved this honor.

As one of the nation's foremost legal ranking organizations, Super Lawyers® has developed a patented, multi-phase selection process to determine the selectees for each annual list. After the Super Lawyers® team reviews thousands of peer and law firm surveys, candidates are measured on 12 indicators of professional and personal accomplishment before receiving a final evaluation from the peer-led Blue Ribbon Panel.

Because of this rigorous selection process, only 5% of all practicing lawyers are selected to the Super Lawyers list for their region and practice area. Additionally, only 2.5% of all attorneys under age 40 will be selected to the relevant Rising Stars list each year.

About Brewster Rawls

With over 35 years of experience exclusively as a litigation attorney, Brewster is among the most experienced medical malpractice lawyers anywhere. For 25 years, he was a premier medical malpractice defense lawyer in Virginia. He tried well over 100 medical malpractice jury trials all over the state. Brewster has achieved—and still maintains—a level of mastery in medical malpractice litigation that few other attorneys can boast. Over the last few years, Brewster moved away from defense work and now represents plaintiffs exclusively. Doing so, he has put his extensive jury trial experience to good use, including two recent seven figure verdicts in favor of his clients. For over 20 years Brewster has also focused on representing veterans and military families in Federal Tort Claims Act cases arising out of negligent medical care provided by VA and military healthcare professionals. Under his leadership, the firm has developed nationwide prominence in handling those cases and Brewster is frequently contacted by media outlets for his opinions on related topics. Owing to Brewster’s extensive experience handling medical cases on both sides, he has a unique ability to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of almost any matter. This means that his results for his clients have been consistently impressive, including trial wins in tough cases and highly favorable settlements.

Because he grew up in a Navy family – attending eight different schools by the time he graduated from high school - Brewster has a special affinity for those who have served our country. Following college at Wake Forest University, he served as a Field Artillery officer in the Army with the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) before going to law school at the University of Richmond. After working in a number of law firms, Brewster founded the firm now known as Rawls Law Group in 1996. He did so with the express intention of creating a law firm that would only do those things it could do very well. Since that time, the firm has remained true to Brewster’s founding philosophy of providing high-quality legal services, always keeping its core focus on matters involving healthcare and medicine. A long-time Richmond resident now, Brewster and his family are well-established in the area and he has served in various community and church leadership roles.
