Our four-legged friends bring us great joy. Dogs especially are the embodiment of unqualified love. There is an old joke about accidentally locking your dog and your spouse in the basement when you went to work in the morning. Which one is glad to see you when you return in the evening?

That pretty much hits the nail on the head. It’s why when it comes to our animals, we’re both serious and silly.
